Tutoring Experience:

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Patrician Secondary **Web Address Removed** Kildare. (2023-2024).
PME1: History and English student teacher-4 hours of teaching per week as well as two hours of
observation. Had two groups of first years for History, I taught a group of first years and second
years English. For my observation classes I observed a fifth History group and 5th year English
group. Assited in running CBA 1 for my shared second year English group. I also helped another
PME run the history club in the school, they were the person who created it.

PME2: History and English student teacher-6 hours of teaching my subjects, I was also put
down to help cover 3 hours of PE classes a week, alongside a PE teacher. I also observed two
classes each week from January onwards, these were a 5th year English class (mixed) and a 5th
year History class (mixed). I took a very active role in the school community as I created the
“UFO” club which basically looked at UFO cases in Ireland using the Irish Newspaper Archive.
I also helped out with the school musical, collecting the tickets and supervising the first years
between scenes. I have also done substitution hours in numerous other subjects and also
supervised afternoon **Web Address Removed** and successfully monitored my second-year history
group as they completed CBA 1. Also assisted my other second year group in completing their
English CBA, though my co-op took the lead here. I also attended and held the parent teacher
meeting for my second-year history group as I am the lead teacher.

Approach to Grinds:

I will focus on the area that the student feels weakest in. We will make extensive use of exam papers and the marking scheme so the student understands the end goal better. Note-taking is important in my teaching style, though we will use technology to ease the burden on students.
