Personal Description:
I am a native Japanese speaker and my English is upper-intermediate. I worked at a hospital in Japan as a Speech and Language Therapist for over 10 years.
I'm keen on sharing cultural differences and having a good time discussing all aspects of Japanese culture, history and cuisine. I'm friendly, patient and hard-working.
Teaching Experience:
I have worked as a private tutor on an informal basis for about a year and I organize a language exchange group for students and friends at various levels of ability. I am familiar with most aspects of Japanese culture and can introduce students to the most interesting parts of Japanese life and history.
Also I worked as a Speech and Language therapist in Japan and have helped a lot of patients who had difficulties with language.
Teaching Approach:
I believe I'm friendly, patient and encouraging. I believe that a good relationship between student and teacher is vital to a good learning experience, and fun is always important in learning. I'm happy to meet either at my own home in Norwich or at a more central location such as the Forum.

She is not only fluent in both Japanese and English but also has a great understanding of both cultures and how they compare. When I first started lessons she was living in England, but not lives back in Japan. It is useful to have real conversations (In Japanese where we can!) discussing how the process of moving back to Japan with her English husband is going.
She explains concepts very well and has made learning Japanese a fun activity. She is always punctual, professional, friendly and helpful in our lessons.
She is highly recommended!
