I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Primary Education and a strong passion for helping students reach their full potential. I have experience teaching across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, supporting pupils of all abilities. I enjoy making learning engaging and accessible, while building students’ confidence in their skills. I am also comfortable tutoring up to GCSE level, particularly in Maths, where I achieved a Grade 8 at GCSE myself.
I have taught across primary year groups, including Year 5, where I worked with mixed-ability classes and supported pupils in English, Maths, and Guided Reading. I am confident in scaffolding learning for lower-ability learners while extending higher-ability students through challenge. I also have experience providing one-to-one and small group support, using formative assessment to adapt lessons and meet individual needs. Alongside my primary teaching, I am confident supporting secondary students with their Maths up to GCSE level, drawing on my strong subject knowledge and high personal achievement. Additionally, I was a tutor at a community centre previously teaching Maths from Year 7 to Year 11.
My approach to tutoring is personalised, supportive, and interactive. I begin by identifying a student’s strengths and areas for development, then tailor lessons to build confidence and enjoyment in learning. I use clear explanations, practical examples, and questioning to encourage independent thinking. I also believe in celebrating small successes to motivate and inspire students. My goal is not only to help students achieve academically but also to develop a positive attitude towards learning.
