I’m a Bristol-based tutor, mentor and child and adolescent psychotherapist-in-training with over ten years experience teaching English in person and online to students aged 5 to 25. I have worked in a variety of settings, from UK-based homeschool services and private tuition to international classrooms across Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
I specialise in supporting learners with SEND, anxiety, and trauma-related needs, helping them access education in a way that feels safe, empowering, and meaningful. With a background in both education and mental health, I bring a unique blend of academic progress and emotional attunement to my work, ensuring that each young person’s individual needs are carefully considered.
For the last five years, I’ve worked with Love Squared, a Bristol-based homeschool charity, tutoring and mentoring students aged 6–25 with SEND including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia. I provide holistic, mental health-informed tuition in English, History, and PSHE, and have successfully supported over 20 students in gaining qualifications and transitioning into schools and universities.
Since 2021 I have also run a private online tuition business supporting students from low-income families with 11+, GCSE, and A-Level exam preparation.
Internationally, I have over five years of experience teaching English as a foreign language through the British Council in France, Spain, Thailand, Colombia, and Somaliland, working with primary, secondary, and university students. These experiences have strengthened my creativity and ability to build meaningful connections across cultures.
My teaching approach is warm, relational, and student-centred. I prioritise creating a calm and inclusive environment where learners feel seen, heard, and valued. I believe that children and young people learn best when they are engaged and trusted to take ownership of their learning. I’ve learnt that it’s important to take into account each student’s unique background, learning style, and life circumstances, adapting content and pacing accordingly. I also enjoy building strong relationships with families, offering regular feedback and ensuring that learning remains consistent and supported outside of sessions.
